Tallahassee Alumni Chapter
2008-2009 Recipient of the BSC Best New Chapter Award
The Tallahassee Alumni Chapter gathered for dinner at Wakulla Springs State Park on October 24, 2009. Before dinner, guests enjoyed a guided tour of a portion of the beautiful spring-fed Wakulla River. On a "jungle boat" tour, alumni watched some of North Florida's native species, including large alligators; water birds, such as the anhinga and cormorants; and a couple of large manatees right at the mouth of the springs. After the tour, the group enjoyed a buffet dinner in the lodge. All 'Southern alumni are invited to join the chapter for southern hospitality when they are in the area!
On Thursday, March 12th, BSC alumni in the Tallahassee area gathered for a potluck dinner and conversation at the home of Chapter Leaders Meg Hoagland Guyton '76 and Charles Guyton '74. Representatives from the BSC Alumni Office gave a college update, and guests shared their reasons as to why they made the choice to attend 'Southern back in the day. Everyone had a wonderful time catching up with old friends and making new ones. Plans for the next chapter event are already in the works!
