Washington D.C. Alumni Chapter
On July 9, 2009, almost 40 alumni from the Washington D.C. area gathered at Johnny's Half Shell for hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Guests were excited to welcome new interns, Hess Fellows, and graduates to the area. Staff members gave everyone an update on the college and shared all of the exciting news from the Hilltop. Plans are already underway to make this into an active alumni chapter so we hope everyone will make plans to get involved!

In March of 2008, BSC Chaplain John Richardson '00 and BSC Assistant Director of Service Learning Sara Doughton met up with Webb Lyons '06 and Maria Presley '07 in Washington D.C. John and Sara took 10 students to the city for BSC's Alternative Spring Break and had a very successful and enjoyable trip. This year's Alternative Spring Break focused on homelessness and poverty. Students prepared and served meals at a homeless shelter and worked at a day care for low income families. In addition, they worked at So Others Might Eat: Center for Employment Training.
Webb is working in D.C. as the Assistant to the President for the National Alliance to End Homelessness. Maria is working as a Global Youth Service Day Assistant for Youth Service America. We are so proud of our alumni!
