 Happy Hour for a Cause

On September 24, 2009, alumni gathered at the law firm of Waldrep, Stewart & Kendrick, LLC in downtown Birmingham for food, fun, and conversation.  Chef Gray Byrum '87 of Echelon Catering prepared food featuring local and organic ingredients.  The event was held in conjunction with BSC's Dialogue on Food Week, a series of events and presentations that launch a year-long cross-disciplinary discussion on food.  A huge thank-you goes out to Waldrep, Stewart & Kendrick, LLC for serving as the host for the event.

BSC Summer After-Hours at Aloft Hotel

On June 18, 2009, alumni gathered at the new Aloft Hotel in Homewood to kick back and relax after work.  This was the first of BSC's Summer After-Hours events.

20th Annual Alumni Easter Egg Hunt

On April 11th, 2009, alumni gathered on the President's Home Lawn for fun and excitement.  Children enjoyed facepainting, cookie-decorating, jumping on the moonbounce, drawing with sidewalk chalk, and of course, finding nearly 2,000 Easter eggs.  Adults were not left out either. While the kids ran for the juiceboxes, parents and grandparents lined up for Bunny Brew. The Easter Bunny and Rowdy the Panther greeted arriving guests with BSC President Dr. David Pollick and First Lady Karen Bentley Pollick.  We hope everyone had a wonderful time and will join us again next year.

BSC vs. Oglethorpe University Baseball Game and Picnic

On March 28, 2009, BSC alumni in the Birmingham area met on the Striplin Terrace on campus to watch the baseball game and dine on baseball fare. Families gathered to watch as the Honorary Alumni Baseball Captains were recognized, and Jack Naramore '78 threw the opening pitch for the ballgame. The event certainly was a great way to start off the spring and recognize the outstanding baseball program at BSC.

ReWine'd w/ Your Valentine Wine Dinner at Cafe Dupont

On February 10, 2009, BSC alumni in the Birmingham area gathered at Cafe Dupont for an exclusive wine dinner, featuring seasonal cuisine by 1985 alumnus and Chef/Owner Chris Dupont and a romance-inspiring presentation by Dr. John Tatter, BSC Professor of English. This was the fifth wine dinner BSC has hosted at Cafe Dupont.

19th Annual Alumni Easter Egg Hunt

On March 22, 2008, big bunnies and little bunnies alike gathered on the President's Home Lawn to search for nearly 2,000 Easter eggs. Guests also enjoyed facepainting, cookie decorating, "chalking" the sidewalks, hopping on the moonbounce, and visiting with the Easter Bunny. A fun time was had by all. We are already looking forward to sharing the fun again next year!

Valentine's Ballroom Dancing Class

Several couples gathered at BSC's Striplin Fitness Center on Wednesday, February 13th for an exciting evening of Ballroom Dancing. Alumni enjoyed learning the waltz, jitterbug, swing, and more from a professional dance instructor. Refreshments were served. "Sweep Me Off My Feet" was definitely a hit and we hope to offer this Valentine's Day treat again in the future. What a fun and different way to celebrate Valentine's Day!
