Dawn Moher (1978)
Dawn (Santacqua) Moher (1978) writes, "2006 is an important year -- soon I will be 50 and with that occasion I will also celebrate over 30 years of friendship with 7 of the finest, most amazing women I know: Michele (Maisano), Karen (Cappetta) Ehrens, Sonja Valentine, Cassie (Bourque) Mantoni, Sue (Arremony) Brochu, Kathy (Berriman) Carlucci, and Sheila Curran; ALL better known as "The VIs". From the moment I set foot in my suite on the 3rd floor of Dorm 6 in September of 1974 I knew the girls in my suite were special. We all became instant friends and we have been friends ever since. We've been there for each other through break-ups, marriages, divorce, miscarriages, births, infertility, and adoption; sickness and health; and we've buried the parents who afforded us the opportunities to attend Bryant. We became sisters without needing to pledge; we have remained sisters out of the love we have for each other. We still consider ourselves as "The VIs" and we feel blessed to be able to do so with such pride and love and committment to each other. At least once, if not twice a year we get together for a weekend and celebrate our friendship, our VI family, our roots, times gone by and times yet to come. We laugh, we cry, we are terribly silly, and often painfully loud; but we're the VIs and we've always been quite comfortable in our skin. Bryant provided us with a gift of friendship and family and for that I, (and I think I speak for all the VIs), will be eternally grateful. With a megaphone full of fond memories.
