Eli Echols (JD, 2004) writes, "I have been an Associate with Socheat Chea, P.C., outside Atlanta, Georgia, since 2008. We practice immigration law exclusively. I am excited to be involved in an area of law that is complex, constantly evolving, and also very personal."

David Wilkes (JD)
David Wilkes (JD, 1992) writes, "I have been elected Chairman of The Appraisal Foundation, based in Washington, DC. The Foundation is authorized by Congress to set the standards for appraisals in the United States and to set appraiser licensing qualifications. The Foundation's Board has also approved the creation of a new and historic subsidiary board developed under my direction to write best practices standards in appraisal for use by appraisers and state regulators (until now there have been no best practices guidelines in the field of valuation). I continue to be a partner at the New York firm I co-founded, Huff Wilkes, LLP."

Bradley Migdal (TAX, 2003) is proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Ava Brooke. She was born on September 23, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois , and weighed 7 lb., 5 oz.. Both baby and mom are doing great!

Thomas Cohn (JD, 1985), Of Counsel to Venable LLP in New York and former FTC Regional Director, was interviewed by NPR Marketplace and CNN.com and quoted in IT Business Edge magazine, on the FTC's revised Endorsement Guides and their application to bloggers.

Peter Kals (JD, 2007) recently started an attorney position at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in Washington, DC. Previously, Peter was a corporate associate at Mayer Brown LLP in New York.

Harvey Kaplan (JD)
Harvey Kaplan (JD, 1974) writes, "After graduating from Clark University in 1968, Harvey served in the Peace Corps for two years in Brazil. He has just completed 25 years teaching immigration law at Northeastern School of Law as an adjunct professor. He also taught the course at Harvard Law School. He is a partner in the law firm of Kaplan,O'Sullivan & Friedman LLP. He has been named in Best Lawyers in America for the past twenty years. He has received local and national awards from the National Lawyers Guild, the National Immigration Project , the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Political Asylum Immigration/Refugee Project, the Brazilian Immigrant Center, the Guatamalan Maya Quiche Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Pro Bono Award from the Massachusetts Supreme Court. Recently he was one of a team of lawyers who represented 361 workers ,most of whom are Mayan Indians women from Guatemala, after a raid by the Department of Homeland Security on a factory in New Bedford. These workers were transferred from Massachusetts to Texas within three days,separated from their families and lawyers,for expedited deportation hearings. See Aquilar v ICE, Depatment of Homeland Security, 510 F.3rd 1(1st Cir. 2007) His wife,Audrey Zucker,is an attorney with the EPA working on Superfund cases. He has two daughters Lily 19,and Abby 17. "

Rachel (Edsall) Thrasher (JD, 2007) and Stephen Thrasher are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Marlee Joy. She was born on December 22, 2008 in Cambridge, Mt. Auburn Hospital, and weighed 5 lb., 0.5 oz..

Rachel (Edsall) Thrasher (JD, 2007) writes, "Since graduating, I've been doing some more research and writing in the areas of international trade law and policy. My Note (http://www.bu.edu/law/central/jd/organizations/journals/bulr/documents/EDSALL.pdf) was sort of a jumping-off point for further legal analysis of trade agreements. Since last summer I've been working with the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at BU and have published a couple of papers with them. The paper that I wrote last spring and summer can be found here: http://www.bu.edu/pardee/publications/pardee-paper-002-trade/. I have another, shorter work coming out this fall. "

Stephen Keller (JD)
Stephen Keller (JD, 1982) writes, "For any of those who might of wondered, I've been hiding out in the DC area for the past 25+ years. I recently passed the 20-year mark with the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), where I am Senior Counsel for Compensation Negotiations, negotiating pay, benefits and other collective bargaining agreements for employees in the SEC, FDIC, OCC and other federal agencies. But most of my attention is focused on my beautiful family - my lovely wife Gail and two darling daughters, Caitlin, 7, and Caroline, 5, who are following in their dad's footsteps, playing softball and rooting for the Red Sox."
