Michele (Eaves) Burgess (1979) writes, "Recently traveled from my hometown of Henderson, NC with my husband Talmadge for a vacation in the NC mountains. Enjoyed a lovely dinner with my former Hoey Dorm roommate, Janice Gaddy Staggs, who I had not seen in 28 years. Had an opportunity several years ago to visit the ASU campus when my son, Justin, was accepted into the Martha Guy Summer Business Institute at the ASU Walker School of Business. Loved all the new additions to the campus and was so proud of the beautiful new library."

Peter Dempsey (1986) writes, "I recently became board certified in Preventive Medicine and Aerospace Medicine. This followed a residency/graduate program during which I earned a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Medicine from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. During the residency I was able to spend a lot of time at NASA and the FAA dealing with medical certification and safety issues. I am currently looking for more work in the fields of Preventive and Aerospace Medicine and I am willing to relocate. I also have a Master of Arts in Biology Education from ASU so I can teach medical courses. Does Boone sound like a possibility?"

Edgar Stallings (1970) writes, "I retired after 37 years in mental health, community college and public school education. I reside in Welcome, NC along with my wife, Mary Sue. We are blessed with a grandson and have another grandchild on the way. I recently wrote a memoir highlighting my early experiences as a teacher and coach in the mountain town of Saluda , NC; "My Saluda Seasons". It can be ordered from any bookstore as well as online from Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Borders and Wordclay.com. All proceeds from the sale of the book are contributed to the Saluda Public Library."

My daughter Ashley Wiles, graduated From ASU May 11, 2009 with a degree in Secondary English Education. Now if she could only find a job. I am very proud of her and now her heart belongs in Boone too. "

She is pursuing at least a dozen activities, namely care and feeding of her husband, Perry, spending time with her 3 grandaughters, spending time with her aging father, Bible Study, crochet work, felting, landscaping and gardening, reading, writing, and choral music."

Upon graduation from ASU, joined the Marine Corps - rank of Captain - then coached high school football - then joined the financial services industry - currently Senior VP, Distribution with Lincoln Financial Group.
