Kevin Shields (2003)
Kevin Shields (2003, CCAC, Boyce Campus) writes, "It is very rewarding to work as an Assistant Systems Administrator and serve my fellow citizens of Allegheny County. After a four-year degree failed to help me career-wise, I decided to return to school. I am so happy that CCAC was my choice. I now have a better job and, if it wasn't for the quality of education that I received at CCAC, that better job may never have been possible. It is also a privilege to serve my fellow Alums as the Vice President of the CCAC Alumni Board."

Kraig Makohus (1995)
Kraig Makohus (1995, CCAC, South Campus) recently accepted a position at Animal Friends located in Pittsburgh, PA as Director of Development. Kraig recently was employed at Spina Bifida Association as Director of Services and Operations. To use a saying of someone else (I can't seem to remember his name...) "but what a long strange trip it's been..." Just when I thought that I found the organization that I was going to settle in for the long haul with, I get a email telling me to contact Animal Friends. Two and half weeks later, I'm their new Director of Development. I know that they are one of the best run non-profits in the region. Dynamic, forward focused, creative staff! If you haven't been out to visit, find me. I'd love to show you around.

Mary Ann Stoops (1998)
Mary Ann Stoops (1998, CCAC, Boyce Campus) writes, " I made a decision in 1995 to take a non-credit computer course to learn more about how to be more efficient in my job, and never realized how much my love of that course would change my life! I decided to go back to school to finish my Associate's Degree, and I soon was invited to join Phi Theta Kappa. I loved serving CCAC, P.T.K. & the community on many service and honor projects, and decided to run for a chapter office. I served as V.P. in 1996, and then was elected as President in 1997/1998. After graduating from CCAC, I have since earned my BSBA and MBA at Robert Morris a feat I never would have desired without the support and encouragement of CCAC! I have since gotten a dream job with Education Management and it could never have happened without CCAC!"

Hilary (Mitchell) Noonan (1989)
Hilary (Mitchell) Noonan (1989, CCAC, Allegheny Campus) received a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University in December 2008. "I will present a paper "Toward a Critical Practice: Tracing Theory through Design" at the yearly conference of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture in January 2009.
Although I am graduating in December, I received the American Society of Landscape Architects Merit Award 2008 last spring along with being inducted into the Sigma Lambda Alpha Honor Society. As a first-year student I submitted a design with two of my studio mates and we were awarded first place in the student entries with a design for our university gardens. All-America Rose Society National Competition First Place May 2006
I have been in the mid-west since shortly after graduating from Yale in May 91. I transferred from CCAC and wouldn't have thought of applying to Yale if it hadn't been for the support and encouragement of my CCAC professors.
I started this master's program in fall 2005. It's a 7 semester post-baccalaureate program (my BA is in Women's Studies with a concentration in Film and Studio Arts). I took 8 semesters to complete the program because the campus is 180 mi commute and I have 4 kids! That was a long road. Hello to everyone in Pittsburgh. I hope it isn't as cold there as it is here on the prairie.
