Greetings Seniors,

Welcome to March! With spring break approaching and excitement about this year’s comencement keynote speaker settling in, the council needs your help. Beginning April 28th the Senior Class Council will be sponsoring a Boulder Bucket List Senior Week! We want to hear what you’d like to do before you leave Boulder. If you still haven’t tried the best sushi in town, or want to get in one last hike at Chatauqua, post on our Facebook page and we will do our best to design events that tick off those last few things on your list. Boulder is a world of its own, so pay attention to all the deals we’re offering at local restaurants and have a great March!

Senior Spotlight: Kaitlin LaFlamme

Senior Spotlight: Kaitlin LaFlammeSince her freshman year at CU Kaitlin has been involved in:

  • CU GOLD in 2010-Present
  • Designing successful community service events: including 2 state-wide Leadership Conferences!
  • Spearheaded 2 campus-wide Leadership Recognition Receptions
  • Outstanding Academic achievements at the Leeds School of Business

What is the coolest thing you've had the opportunity to be a part of at CU?

It is so hard to choose just one thing, but planning and experiencing CU GOLD's Leadership Conference every year has been an incredible experience for me. Our Executive Board spends several months putting the conference together every year, and it is always so cool to see leaders from all over campus come together for a day to learn from each other and to become even better leaders. The hard work we put into the conference always pays off, and knowing that we are helping other students to become the best leaders they can be is an experience I feel so fortunate to have had during my time at CU.

Where is your favorite place in Boulder?

I love going to Chautauqua because it is a very peaceful and beautiful place, and being so close to the Flatirons is always very humbling for me.

Who do you admire most?

I adore Lucille Ball. She once said, "Love yourself first and everything else falls into line", and that is one of the things I admire most about her. She was always true to herself, she valued hard work, and she had incredible determination, and I try to implement those values in my life as well. Plus, the show "I Love Lucy" is the best show that has ever been on television, so she is an easy person to admire!

Cosmo's or Abo's?

Cosmo's! Not only is the pizza delicious, but the spicy ranch is genius!

Thanks so much for your dedication to the school and the community Kaitlin!

If you feel that you know a Senior who deserves to be recognized, send your recommendation to scc@colorado.edu, and we’ll reward next month’s Senior Spotlight with a free Senior T-Shirt!
